To start my process, I choose a puppy. I buy them from local dog breeders, shelters, and owners. More often than not, I buy them from breeders. I prefer the option of choosing a puppy out of a litter, ensuring I know how the dog acts around other dogs. Because I am very emotionally sensitive, I am able to pinpoint how a puppy most likely will act when it gets older.
I buy the puppy when it’s around 8-12 weeks of age from a breeder, if its from a shelter or an owner they can be anywhere from 3-12 months old.
During the training process, the puppy lives with me and learns my daily routine. Learning a humans' habits, immensely helps the puppy understand and adapt to what is expected from them.
After bringing the puppy home, I begin introducing them to basic commands such as; sit, lay, and paw. After the dog's recall has improved with these commands, I begin diving deeper into the Emotional Support and Service dog side of training.
Training takes as little as 1 month but can take as long as 6 months. Once the puppy has met nearly all of my training criteria, I match the dog to a family.
When the dog reaches 1-year-old it can be certified for Emotional Support, Service Dog, and/or as a Canine Good Citizen, based on the knowledge and ability of the pup.
I am passionate about helping dogs reach their full potential. I work tirelessly to ensure that every dog receives the best possible care and attention.
Unlike many other businesses and trainers, I sell my puppies at younger ages and lower rates. This allows for longer and stronger bonds between the dog and handler. In addition, 90% of my pups are potty and crate trained when placed, allowing the transition into a new home to be less stressful and more enjoyable for both parties.
The length of time it takes to train a dog depends on a variety of factors, including the dog's age, breed, temperament, and the type of training needed. Dogs will not be less than 3 months old when they are placed. Most of the time, training takes anywhere between 1-6 months. This ensures the puppy knows appropriate commands. After the pup has met nearly all of my training criteria, I match the dog to a family. My program is very flexible and unique.
